Lovely set of mid-century MBFA Pornic pottery Penerff pattern all in immaculate condition and backstamped
The MBFA Pornic ceramic company is situated in Loire Atlantique, Western France, near Quimper and the design is named after the Port of Penerff in Brittany.
In a pattern typical of French 1960s design, it is a creamy off-white glazed ceramic decorated with shellfish and sea weeds
The plate has six oyster shaped wells, for holding oysters, mussels or scallops, and a larger central well showing a red starfish, for lemons or a sauce. The platter has 12 oyster shaped wells with three in the centre.
The set will be a real statement piece at a dinner party or on a Christmas table
